Coming back out of my hole for the summer
I have been gone for a
while now as usual. One would think writing a small blog article would be easy
to do but that is not always the case.
I have been working a
couple of ideas for paintings as of late but have had to put them on hold as I
moved my house around so I could get something done.
My kids use the computer
and I had it right where I paint, so I moved the computer in a separate room.
Now I am clearing out the clutter and setting up shop again.
I have started setting a
limit on my size for canvas. This will allow me to make some quick decisions on
which canvas I want to paint with. It will also allow me to keep frames around
that I can test a painting in or show the client their pieces with.
I will also start
stocking up on canvas so I will be able to prime and setup my undertone, thus
allowing me to have canvas ready whenever the mood hits me to begin painting.
As I have started this new
post abruptly, I have to end it now and return to my daily work. I will post
again soon.

Studio
For the longest time I have been stuck like most artists. In a corner of the basement where family members walk in and out of, all as I try to paint. I usually am called out of what I am concentrating on by some family argument or by someone needing the computer which sits about a foot past my easel. Well that might be about to change.
A buddy of mine at Kankakee Community College might have found a way to get me a studio space to paint in. I have to do a little web work for him but could end up with a room above his relatives print shop. I have always dreamed of having a studio and this is close to that. It is not a large room but has wonderful lights that I will be switching in some color corrected tubes, a somewhat large window (not north light but still awesome), and descent size closet.
It will take me a little time to get it in working order but I will keep this blog informed as I get to work on it.
