"The Reader", was placed in the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival 2003 Art Show, Bourbonnais, IL--It came in first place.

I painted this using a Verdaccio technique applying an underpainting to get more realistic flesh tones. I also have a link to some more information on the Verdaccio method which I have been using for a while now.
